Nursing Responsibilities: Assess, plan, and deliver comprehensive healthcare to patients by providing the following: Administer medications Perform medical intakes and assess if patient is fit for incarceration, as needed Respond to sick call requests and follow up with the medical provider when needed Check and/or change medical dressings as required by the medical provider Performing 14-day physicals Managing chronic care Providing patient education on health concerns Responding to medical emergencies Be capable of performing life saving measures and ability to take charge and give direction in an emergency. Maintain working knowledge of pharmacology, including but not limited to drug reaction/overdose, formulary/non-formulary medications, and knowledge of medication costs Be able to provide insight and direction to Medically Trained Personnel, as needed. Comply with all current and future state, federal, and local laws and regulations Location: Kosciusko County Correctional Center, Warsaw, Indiana Shift Opening(s): 6PM to 6AM with alternating weekends, 3 days per week. Pay Range: $35-40+/hour based on experience Requirements: Valid RN licensure Valid CPR certification Must be able to stand for extended periods of time Must be able to push, pull, reach, and bend frequently Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds BONUS: $4000 Retention Bonus - $1000 paid at 60 days, $1000 paid at 6 months, $2000 paid at 1 year. Assures completeness of ordered procedures and treatments, assures smooth patient flow, performs general lab work, instructs patients concerning procedures, treatments and needs, and ensures medical orders and referrals are carried out accurately and in a timely manner. Performs registration and scheduling activities per organizational and departmental procedures. Maintains EMR files and performs general front office functions as needed. May perform computerized physician order entry, only if directed by assigned physician. Expected to precept current MA team members or MA Externs as requested by leadership. AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification required. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies. High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from a Medical Assistant program preferred. Current certification in medical assisting required from America Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Health Career Association (CCMA), National Center for competency Testing (NCMA), and/or American Medical Certification Association (CMAC). Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA required. Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding required. TB validated (to administer or read) or validation obtained within 6 months of hire preferred. Knowledge of Business Unit Quality Programs, Meaningful Use and Standard Work Programs and concepts within 6 months of hire. Knowledge of standard laboratory and medical procedures. Knowledge of insurance plans and third-party payers. Ability to master standard clinical competencies per current Clinical policy, Point of Care and Skills Competency checklists. Requires basic math and accurate data collection and entry skills.

Key Responsibilities: • To perform or assist the resident with completing Activities of Daily Living (ADL). • Respond to residents call lights to provide maximum comfort, safety and privacy. • Transport residents by ambulation or by wheelchair to areas of community (dining room, lobby and activities). • Report any significant findings/observations to nurse immediately. • Assist residents on admission, transfer and discharge to make a smooth transition. • Responsible for the safekeeping of residents’ personal possessions. • Keep resident rooms neat and safe. • Follow proper infection control techniques • Respect the rights of each resident, particularly privacy and confidentiality. • Re-teach resident to perform ADL skills. • Provide restorative care to prevent pressure sores, contractures, and complications. • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement and ensures follow-up occurs. • Converse with resident and family; assist them on adjustment to the community. • Ensure adequate hydration and nutrition of resident; report deviations from norm to the Charge Nurse promptly. • Perform blood pressure, pulse, respirations, intake/output and weights accurately. Qualifications: • Certified and state tested as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state employed; certificate must be active, valid, and in good standing. Pay: $19-25/hr.
