Job Responsibilities
- Providing quality patient care within your scope of practice for patients requiring a wide range of clinical needs
- Assisting patients with pre-op and post-op procedures in coordination with the broader care team
- Starting IV lines, inserting and maintaining catheters, dressing and managing wounds, and assisting with respiratory management
- Taking and monitoring patient vital signs and conducting head-to-toe assessments
- Ensuring medication administration and titration as prescribed
- Identifying infection risks and implementing infection control best practices
- Documenting patient conditions and nursing interventions and providing regular and accurate reporting to the wider clinical team
- Conducting patient education regarding medical procedures, discharge planning, and continuity of care
- Overseeing, and coordinating with, nursing assistants and other support staff
- Adhering to facility policies and procedures and all relevant nursing standards of care
- Being accountable to follow and adhere to patient care plans
Qualifications and Skills
- Current New Hampshire state Registered Nurse (RN) license (Compact allowed)
- Minimum of 8 months experience working as a Med Surg RN
- Graduation from a nursing program at an approved institution (BSN preferred)
- Successful completion of BLS and ACLS courses from an approved organization
- Immunizations as determined by facility requirements
- Completion of a standard background check
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
