Job Description:

The Role: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) 36 hours per week 7a – 7p

MaineGeneral is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team of professional caregivers at our Gray Birch Center in Augusta. This is a team atmosphere where staff help each other to be their best to help ensure the best customer service for our residents and their families.

This is a highly sought out 36 hour per week 7a – 7p opportunity. The Work:

Providing great resident care.
Providing physical support for patients or residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, - using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
Ensuring patients or residents receive appropriate diet by reviewing their dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences.
Obtaining a wide range of information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about patient conditions, treatment plans, and suggested activities.
Measuring and recording intake and output, taking vital signs, and reporting changes to medical or nursing staff.
Noting observations of patient behavior, including complaints, or physical symptoms to nurses.
Gather samples for analysis.
Ensure equipment is routinely inspected and cleaned.
Uphold all health and safety standards.
Respond to patient emergency call signals, bells, or intercom systems to identify patient needs.

You Have:

State of Maine Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
Good understanding of medical and pharmacological terminology.
Current CPR (American Heart Association).
Ability to think and work independently and with direction, and communicate with staff members in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
High School graduate or equivalent. (Preferred)
Comfortable using a computer.
