Nursing Assistant II, Medical Inpatient Nursing Unit

The Nursing Assistant (NA) II will work Full Time, Various Shifts and Weekends and is a key member to the nursing care team. They assist with direct and indirect patient care within their scope of practice, supporting patients, nursing and medical care teams. The care delivered is in collaboration and under the supervision/ delegation of the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/ The Nursing Assistant (NA) shares accountability for the quality of patient outcomes. In select departments, the NA role may also include some clerical support functions (such as phone answering, filing, computer data entry, etc.)

Provides direct / non-direct patient care:

The Nursing Assistant (NA) II performs Activity of Daily Living (ADL) care including, but not limited to:
The Nursing Assistant (NA) II performs patient data collection, including but not limited to:
The Nursing Assistant (NA) II provides direct patient monitoring, including but not limited to:
The Nursing Assistant (NA) II performs patient care interventions as delegated and within scope of practice and validated competency, including but not limited to:
Others patient care needs, including but not limited to:

The Nursing Assistant (NA) II communicates effectively with nursing and healthcare team, including but not limited to:

Understands and reports out of range patient data values to covering RN.
Recognize and report patient changes to covering RN.
Performs shifts reports with oncoming staff.
Demonstrates initiative and understanding of job duties through communication with healthcare team and own self initiative.

The Nursing Assistant (NA) II Customer Service, this includes but not limited to:

Relating and respecting each patient individually.
Meeting needs of each patient to ensure excellent patient care is delivered. This includes a patient’s cognitive, physical and emotional needs, as well as their personal preference, cultural and religious beliefs.

The Nursing Assistant (NA) II performs similar or related duties as requested or directed:

Performs other duties as requested by healthcare and leadership team, within the scope of practice.

Education:

High School or GED, preferred.

Experience:

Minimum one year of previous direct patient care experience at an acute care hospital, long term care facility, rehabilitation facility or licensed home care facility/agency.

Completion of one year of RN school from an approved ADN or BSN program where (and) a minimum of 30 hours of clinical patient care was performed.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), license must be current.

(OR)

EMT certification with less than 1 year volunteer experience, certification must be current.

Skills:

Reading, writing, typing and basic math skills required.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and coworkers.
Ability to function as an active team member.
Demonstrates competency of required skills relevant to area of practice once oriented.

Physical Requirements:

Walking, standing, bending, and kneeling throughout the shift
Ability to move and position patients is required
Lifting, moving of heavy equipment
Category I risk exposure as defined by OSHA

Hazards:

Occasional: Burns, Chemical, Electrical.
Frequent: Bodily Fluids/ Bloodborne Exposure.

Working Conditions:

Occasional: Noise, Wetness, Dust, Gases, Mists, Odors.

Travel:

No Travel Required.

USD $3,750.00

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.
