A temporary school nursing opportunity is available in Bangor, PA, providing onsite support during the summer session from July 6 to July 30. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This role is ideal for an experienced RN or LPN with a passion for supporting student health and wellness within an educational setting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing and providing first aid to students experiencing illness or injury
- Delivering preventive health services that promote students physical, mental, emotional, and social development
- Educating students, parents/guardians, and staff on health-related topics
- Maintaining communication with students and families regarding health concerns
- Administering the school health program and ensuring accurate health documentation
- Promoting a safe and healthy school environment for all attendees
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN or RN) in Pennsylvania
- Certification as an Educational Specialist by the Pennsylvania Department of Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor certifications
- 35 years of nursing experience preferred, particularly in pediatrics, school nursing, or similar areas
- Physical ability to perform duties including standing, bending, lifting 1025 pounds, and effective communication
