Description:
The Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers high-quality, patient-centered care across inpatient and outpatient settings. This role partners closely with neurosurgeons to evaluate, diagnose, and manage complex neurological conditions, while supporting surgical services and coordinating care across the continuum. The APP functions with a high level of autonomy and plays a key role in improving access, efficiency, and patient outcomes within the neurosurgery service line.

• BSN or MSN degree and successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program or accredited Nursing Practitioner program
• Basic Life Support certification

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
• Previous experience in Neurosurgery care

Environmental Conditions:
Works in well-lit, ventilated building. Hours may vary to accommodate needs in the department. Exposure of blood-borne pathogens is of high risk.

Physical Requirements:
Work is of medium demand. Standing, walking most of the time on duty. Lifting and pushing patients, carts, and wheelchairs. Adequate hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills required. Good tactile sensation is necessary for checking patients. Talking and hearing is essential in instructing and supervising nursing personnel and in receiving doctors’ orders and patient’s condition reports. Near visual acuity for accurate recording of patients’ charts.
