WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Our Talented Advanced Practice Providers plan, evaluate, and implement high quality medical care with appropriate resource management to patients, both adults and children in cooperation with center physicians
Adheres to the service and courtesy standard of Prisma Health Urgent Care by delivering the highest standard of patient satisfaction at all times
Provides patient care within the respective clinical area which complies with the Professional Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations and University Hospitals Urgent Care policies and procedures
Provides and/or serves as a resource for patient/family and staff
Provides an authenticated report of all services rendered and maintains accurate and complete records in an acceptable manner
Completes necessary documentation and ensures communication to facilitate patient care and appropriate reimbursement
Participates in meetings/activities as required to support operations of the urgent care
Participates in activities that enhance professional development, complete and maintain certification in BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, or NALS and maintains any additional specialty training/certifications as required by the area assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Board Certified (or Board Eligible) and Licensed to practice medicine in the state of practice
Advanced degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program of study
Licensed Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in accordance with the state of Ohio
Current DEA registration
Must be DOT certified
Experience with procedures including suturing and drainage of abscesses
Experience with reading diagnostic studies including x-rays and EKGs
BLS certification (we will provide this if needed)
Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing set forth by WellStreet Urgent Care
Experience in Urgent Care, Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine preferred
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and other employees

The MetroHealth System, affiliated with Case Western Reserve University, Hospital Medicine division is seeking full time Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Practitioner. The successful candidate will deliver direct patient care consistent with the advanced practice registered nurse’s education, experience and certification, in collaboration with a physician, which includes diagnosis, management and/or referral of health care issues. Promotes consumer, family, and community health through preventative health care actions and through patient advocacy. The advanced practice registered nurse may also manage complex illnesses and/or deliver specialty care. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System. Responsibilities Include Contributes to patient safety by: Providing a safe environment for patients. Reporting safety concerns, errors and near misses. Participating in system improvement initiatives to prevent errors. Providing evidence-based care as applicable to the role. Clinical Practice Performs patient assessment, documents and analyzes data relative to specialty based on patient needs, existing signs and symptoms and current patient data. Utilizes critical thinking in formulating differential diagnosis and establishing priorities in care. Institutes measures to promote and maintain health, prevent illness, maintain comfort and meet achievable patient and family care preferences. Develops individual, evidence-based plan of care for patient with ongoing management and evaluation of patient outcomes based upon advanced practitioner’s scope of practice and certification in collaboration with patient, family, and/or other pertinent health care provider(s) including collaborating and specialty physician(s) as needed. Provides care in a manner which enhances patient satisfaction; maintains and promotes good public relations. Selects appropriate communication approach to achieve desired outcomes; identifies barriers to communication; initiates appropriate interaction and evaluates results. Accepts accountability for clinical practice including making decisions proactively, responding to changing needs of patients/families and representing patient needs to others as appropriate. Ensures that compliance is maintained with all applicable regulatory agencies and laws, national standards, The MetroHealth System Code of Ethical Conduct and American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics. Prescribes drugs and therapeutic devices in accordance with laws and within scope of practice, if holds Certificate to Prescribe. full time night shift position working 7p-7a 13 shifts in a 28-day period Qualifications Required: MSN or grandfathered under Ohio Revised Code Graduate of an accredited advanced practice registered nurse program Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio Certificate of Authority as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or obtains within 90 days of hire. Obtains other advanced life support certifications applicable to practice area within 180 days of hire Meets the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges in the specialty/department with The MetroHealth System and must report to Medical Staff Office at time of hire to apply for clinical privileges Maintains a standard care arrangement and renews/signs it as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing Note: Other department specific qualifications for providers will be addressed through the Certificate of Authority and credentialing process.
