Job Description

This position provides leadership on a 24 hours/7 days per week basis, to the nursing care team in order to provide for the patients needs while under medical care in the facility (as inpatient, resident, day surgery, etc.) as well as to assess needs, plan, implement and evaluate patients' nursing care. The Nurse Manager is responsible for one or more departments and has responsibility for operations, hiring and terminating staff; disciplining and counseling staff and for approving payroll and time records. The Nurse Manager is also responsible for the quality improvement outcomes and activities of the unit(s) to which they manage.

Education And Credentials

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required. Current NYS licensure as a Registered Nurse required. National Certification in related clinical area or leadership upon hire preferred.

Experience

3 years of experience in clinical setting required. 1 year of experience in clinical leadership required. 1 year of experience in specific clinical service line of assigned department preferred.
