PACU RN at Western Carolina Surgery Center
PACU Duties:
- Recovery Care: Provide postoperative care to patients in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), monitoring vital signs, pain levels, and overall well-being.
- Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' comfort and safety, managing pain and addressing any immediate postoperative concerns.
- Assessment: Continuously assess patients for signs of complications or adverse reactions, taking prompt action as needed.
- Medication Management: Administer postoperative medications, including pain management and antiemetics, while closely monitoring their effects.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, documenting all care provided, observations, and patient responses.
- Discharge Planning: Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patients are ready for discharge and providing discharge instructions.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- BLS and ACLS Required
- Current RN license in the state of North Carolina.
- Previous experience in a preoperative and postoperative nursing role.
- Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, adapting to a fast-paced surgical environment.
