The Diabetes Educator is part of a team that provides community outreach services including wellness and health education programs and classes for the community. Work may be at a variety of locations throughout the service area as needed. The Nurse Educator will perform services such as flu shots, phlebotomy, counseling on health issues and acting as a resource to the wellness staff.

Experience: One year of related experience. Requires a working knowledge of standard practices and procedures.
Licenses and Certifications
*MULTISTATE NURSING LICENSE
*HEALTHCARE PROVIDER (CPR)
*CERTIFIED DIABETES EDUCATOR
Qualifications
*Must be a Registered Nurse previous experience preferred in counseling, teaching, planning, and/or organizing multiple projects.
*Basic computer skills required.
*Pleasant, professional demeanor; confident personality.
*Ability to communicate with a wide range of people to create a positive image of Tanner Medical Center.
*Capable of operating effectively in high volume conditions.
*Ability to organize and prioritize for maximum time utilization.
*Ability to make independent judgments, displaying emotional maturity and using sound judgment.
*Knowledgeable about current health issues.
*Excellent customer service skills.
*Physical appearance should reflect an image of positive health practices and professional demeanor.
*Must complete clinical skills check list.
*Must have earned Certified Diabetes Educator credential within 6 months of being in role.
