Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing the delegated nursing functions under the direction of the department manager and clinical nurses. This position is responsible for assisting with direct patient care and clerical duties that are an essential function in the coordination of optimal patient care, including, but not limited to scheduling patients, patient hygiene/toileting, mobility assistance, interdepartmental transportation, vital signs, charting, ordering supplies, cleaning and stocking patient areas, chart audits and interaction with all areas of the department .

Qualifications

Required Education:

High school diploma (or equivalent) and successful completion of a Medical Assistant training course at a vocational/technical school.

 

Required Experience:

None

 

Preferred Experience:

Successful completion of a Medical Assistant externship and two (2) or more years of job-related experience preferred.

 

Required Certification/License/Registry:

Medical Assistant

Medical Assistant – Full-Time Day Shift We are seeking experienced Medical Assistants to provide on-site clinical support in a secure correctional healthcare setting. This is a full-time contract opportunity supporting a structured Health Services Unit with consistent hours and a stable long-term assignment.
