HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your Roel:

The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing the delegated nursing functions under the direction of the department manager and clinical nurses.

  • This position is responsible for:
    • Assisting with direct patient care and clerical duties that are an essential function in the coordination of optimal patient care, including, but not limited to
      • Scheduling patients
      • Patient hygiene/toileting
      • Mobility assistance
      • Interdepartmental transportation
      • Vital signs
      • Charting
      • Ordering supplies
      • Cleaning and stocking patient areas
      • Chart audits and interaction with all areas of the department .

Reports:

  • RN/Nurse Manager

Supervises:

  • None

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and successful completion of a Medical Assistant training course at a vocational/technical school.

 

Required Experience:

  • None

Preferred Experience:

  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant externship and two (2) or more years of job-related experience preferred.

Coordinates patient calls/walk-ins in emergent situations. Assists in other functions of the medical group practice as needed. Tasks performed are in compliance with department and policies and procedures, and within educational preparation. Responsibilities Proficiency in patient rooming protocols, conduct patient intake,measure vital signs, and assist the care team with treatments and procedures as directed. Manage phone communications, maintain patient records, and assist with supply inventory, ordering, and stocking. Ensure treatment rooms are prepared for examinations and the clinical area is clean and well-organized. List all proper diagnoses and symptoms, including follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider. Transcribe patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications. Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
