Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in an inpatient psychiatric environment. You will perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications, respond to urgent medical needs, and guide care through clinical judgment and collaboration.

This role is central to the treatment team—ensuring care plans are executed effectively, documentation is accurate, and patients receive consistent, safe, and therapeutic support. You will also play a key role in fostering an environment built on respect, safety, and inclusion.


Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least 20 years of age

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Kansas

  • Valid Driver’s License and Auto Insurance

  • Three to six months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and training

Preferred:

  • Experience in behavioral health settings


What You Will Do

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing reassessments

  • Administer medications using barcode scanning and monitor medication administration records

  • Review and implement provider orders accurately and without delay

  • Collect, document, and communicate patient data in the electronic health record (EHR)

  • Monitor vital signs, allergies, and patient responses to medications and treatments

  • Provide first aid and appropriate clinical interventions within scope of practice

  • Coordinate appointments and communicate with pharmacy partners

  • Conduct admission and walk-in assessments as needed

  • Assist with discharge planning and review discharge instructions

  • Support patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, nutrition, and mobility

  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and care plan adjustments

  • Lead or support hygiene and psychoeducational groups

  • Respond to crises using trained de-escalation techniques

  • Ensure full compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and all regulatory requirements

  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation before the end of each shift

  • Communicate effectively with guardians, providers, and care teams
