The Rehab nurse is responsible for all normal nursing duties: assessment, admissions, discharges, education, administering medications via multiple routes, patient safety, interdisciplinary collaboration, blood draws, placing peripheral IVs, maintaining central and peripheral lines, foley catheters, bowel programs, etc. The most rewarding piece is watching the patients gain higher function and ability to care for themselves. We work as a team of RNs, LPNs, Techs, secretaries, Case managers, therapists, physicians, etc. Our goal is to deliver exceptional care to every patient and care for each other. .Not sure if this is for you? Patient Population/Diagnoses:
- Strokes
- brain injuries
- spinal cord injuries
- lower extremity amputations
- general debility
- myopathies
Nursing skills gained:
- Interdisciplinary team collaboration

Qualifications:
- Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Education: The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
- Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
