How you’ll make an impact in this role

Supervise and provide leadership to Advanced Practice Providers, ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in assigned area.

  • Coordinate and monitor patient care provided by Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Oversee competency assessments and clinical skill improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.
  • Perform quality assurance studies and assist with the implementation of quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Ensure that multidisciplinary rounds meet the needs of clients, families, and other care providers.
  • Assist with development, evaluation and implementation of policies and procedures for specialty area.
  • Participate in hiring, discipline, development and evaluation of staff.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing required. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the State of Texas is required or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date if Nurse Practitioner. Can be substituted with a Physician Assistant license as a preferred credential required.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Midwife credentialed from the Texas Midwifery Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. In states where it applies RN license must be held concurrent to Advanced Practice license.
    • Nurse Anesthetist credentialed from the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. In states where it applies RN license must be held concurrent to Advanced Practice license.

Level 1 is entry-level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3 years of experience. Level 2 requires a minimum of 3 years of experience. Level Sr requires 6 years of experience. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required. OR Physician Assistant Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification. Level 1 is entry-level and typically requires 0-3 years of experience. Level 2 requires 3 years of experience. Level Sr requires 6 years of experience. Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required. OR Clinical Nurse Specialist Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program. Level 1 is entry-level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3 years of experience. Level 2 requires 3 years of experience. Level Sr requires 6 years of experience.
