Position Summary

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care within an inpatient psychiatric setting. You will play a vital role in supporting patient recovery by administering medications, monitoring health status, documenting care, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective treatment.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about behavioral health and making a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and families.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least 20 years of age

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification

  • Active LPN license in the state of Kansas

  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance

  • 3 to 6 months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and training

Preferred:

  • Experience in behavioral health settings

What You Will Do

  • Administer medications using barcode scanning and maintain accurate medication records

  • Monitor patient health, vital signs, and responses to treatment

  • Document all patient care and observations in the electronic health record

  • Provide first aid and basic wound care within scope of practice

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene and mobility

  • Participate in treatment team meetings and help implement individualized care plans

  • Support therapeutic and educational groups

  • Respond to urgent medical needs and assist with crisis intervention

  • Coordinate appointments, lab collections, and communication with pharmacy

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, infection control, HIPAA, and regulatory standards

  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient/guardian communication
