About the Role:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Southeast Healthplex plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. This position is responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being throughout their treatment journey. The LPN will collaborate closely with providers and other healthcare professionals to implement care plans and monitor patient progress. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong clinical skills, and compassionate communication to support patients and their families effectively. Ultimately, the LPN contributes to the overall mission of Southeast Healthplex by promoting positive health outcomes and enhancing patient satisfaction in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Oklahoma.
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital or outpatient clinic.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment such as a hospital, clinic, or long-term care facility.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare documentation software.
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience in patient education and counseling.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine patient assessments, including vital signs, symptom documentation, and laboratory tests, to identify changes in condition.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop, implement, and update individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards within the clinical setting.
Skills:
The LPN will utilize clinical nursing skills daily to assess patient conditions, administer medications, and provide direct care, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Effective communication skills are essential for coordinating with healthcare team members and educating patients and families about treatment plans and health maintenance. Attention to detail is critical when documenting patient information accurately and adhering to regulatory standards. Problem-solving skills enable the LPN to respond appropriately to changes in patient status and emergencies. Additionally, proficiency with electronic health records and healthcare technology supports efficient workflow and accurate data management.
