Overview
The Riverside Health System provides a temporary paid student internship program that creates an opportunity to gain invaluable experience through a combination of mentoring, learning activities, and project work designed to give broad exposure to the inner workings of a health care system. This temporary paid internship program consists of various assignments throughout the health system combined with leadership development opportunities. Students serving in this role will be expected to participate in completing projects for the health system with minimal supervision. Students will be assigned to one department or facility for the entire program period where they will work under the supervision/mentorship of an experienced Business Unit Leader. Additionally, students may have the opportunity to attend training and development meetings in an environment with other students or administrative residents. Students may work in non-clinical functional areas such as hospital/facility/clinic administration, finance, information technology, marketing/communications, or human resources.

  • Communicates clearly and provides excellent customer service to all persons accessing Riverside Health System. Promotes ease of access to Riverside services.
  • Engages in a team environment, following the RESPECT policies/guidelines. Does not participate in negative discussions with other staff unless it is to eliminate negativism by offering solutions. Assists in the orientation and / or on-boarding of new employees.
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills. Shows professionalism in communicating on the phone and in person. Demonstrates knowledge and support of the mission of RHS policies and interpersonal relations to staff, physicians, customers and other departments.
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations in dealing with fellow employees, supervisors, and other department employees, so that departmental productivity and positive employee relations are maximized while maintaining a level of professionalism.
  • Demonstrates project management skills to include: project tracking, reporting, and measurement activities that indicate progress towards department/system/corporate goals. Completes projects within assigned time frame.
