Overview

The Opioid Stewardship Program Manager leads the design, execution, and oversight of the enterprise opioid stewardship and illicit substance strategy. The role reduces opioid related harm while supporting effective pain management through data driven surveillance, regulatory readiness, interdisciplinary collaboration, and education. The position integrates quality, safety, risk mitigation, and evidence based opioid use across the organization and the communities it serves within the Center for Quality and Safety.

Responsibilities

• Enterprise Opioid Stewardship Leadership Design lead and sustain a system wide opioid stewardship program aligned with organizational quality safety and risk mitigation priorities.
• Data Surveillance Risk Mitigation and Clinical Collaboration Safety science and data to identify risk guide decision making and reduce variation in opioid prescribing.
• Education Professional Development and Representation. Strengthen organizational capability through education mentorship and external engagement.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree Master’s degree in clinical area: e.g. Nursing, Pharmacology and 3-5 years' experience. Experience leading quality improvement initiatives across multiple areas. Expertise in quality data analysis, interpretation, and translation into actionable improvement. OR
• Bachelor's Degree in clinical area: e.g. BSN, B.Pharm, or B.S and 5-7 years' experience. Experience leading quality improvement initiatives across multiple areas. Expertise in quality data analysis, interpretation, and translation into actionable improvement. 

If Nursing: 

• • One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas, Licensed Pharmacist - KS required upon hire
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri, Licensed Pharmacist - MO required upon hire
  • RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $46.76/hr, but your salaried offer will be determined based upon your education and experience.

 

 

Remote Work/Work from Home

This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his or her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and on-site hours at a Children’s Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
