
RN Coordinator - Interventional Radiology - Full Time 8 Hour Rotating Shift (Non-Exempt) (Non-Union)
The Coordinator is a Registered Nurse with recognized leadership abilities and sound clinical skills who will actively assist the Director and/or Manager in coordinating the day-to-day activities of the unit. The Coordinator takes a leading role in activities such as nursing performance improvement, job performance evaluations, staffing, scheduling and working with the directors in the orientation and training of new employees
The Clinical Coordinator is a Registered Nurse with recognized leadership abilities and sound clinical skills who will actively assist the Clinical Director of Interventional Radiology Services in Coordinating the day-to-day activities of the unit. The Clinical Coordinator takes a leading role in activities such as nursing performance improvement, job performance evaluations, staffing, scheduling and working with the director in the orientation and training of new employees.
Essential Duties:
- The practice of the Clinical Coordinator is to serve as a resource in supporting the clinical practice of the staff RN, to provide direction for unit assistive personnel and health care team members in managing the condition of the patient, and to actively assist the Director in coordinating the day-to-day activities.
- Displays leadership abilities and sound clinical skills.
- Promotes professional growth and retention of self and unit personnel.
- Adheres to governing regulations such as hospital policies, Title 22 and JCAHO.
- Utilizes the six core steps for decision making.
- Takes a leadership role in activities such as Nursing Performance Improvement, staff evaluations, staffing, schedules, orientation of staff, etc.
- Is a positive change agent.
- Is a patient advocate.
- Is a staff advocate.
- Responsible for tabulating KRONOS timekeeping.
- Coordinates and integrates department services on an intradepartmental, interdepartmental, as well as, hospital wide level.
- Plans for the provision of services through appropriate levels of qualified, competent staff.
- Utilizes policies and procedures to support the RN’s scope of practice.
- Establishes and maintains performance improvement and quality control activities to support the department, as well as, the hospital.
- Provides orientation, training and continuing education for the staff.
- Monitors space/resource requirements and utilizes outside resources.
- Competent in utilizing Cerner Millenium to place physician orders.
- Competent in performing all staff duties in clinical area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Req Bachelor’s Degree Nursing Degree in Nursing
- Req 2 years Two (2) years experience as an RN in an acute care setting required
- Req Organization/time management skills.
- Req Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pref Nursing Master’s Degree in Nursing or in progress, strongly preferred *Master’s Degree in Nursing may be in lieu-of Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Pref 1 year Relief charge experience.
- Pref 1 year At least one (1) year of relief charge experienced preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Req Registered Nurse - RN (CA DCA)
- Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
- Req Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
The hourly rate range for this position is $58.50 - $96.53.
