Samaritan Health Services in Oregon has an opportunity for a Pulmonology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate

Samaritan Health Services, a non-profit integrated health care delivery system, is seeking a full-time Pulmonology APC to join our team in Corvallis, OR. Based at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, a level 2 trauma center, Samaritan Pulmonology provides consultation and care of diseases affecting the respiratory system, including treatment for COPD/asthma, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary vascular disease and thoracic malignancy.

Our award-winning health system provides exceptional primary care and a range of specialty services throughout the mid-Willamette Valley and Central Oregon coast. The network serves approximately 300,000 residents in Linn, Benton, Lincoln and portions of Polk and Marion counties. Job Specifics

  • Manage a panel of patients largely focusing on obstructive lung diseases
  • Collaborate with pulmonologists in the outpatient setting
  • 15-20 patients per day
  • 34 patient facing hours/week
  • Handles urgent appointments for established pulmonary medicine patients and new patient visit/follow ups
  • On-site Pulmonary Function Lab
  • Hospital employed
  • Experience Required

Job Requirements

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for clinical management of pulmonary patients, patient education, follow up, interpretations of diagnostics, medication management, and responding to patient questions on a variety of medical issues
  • Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic pulmonary illnesses
  • Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients
  • Develop and implement patient management policies and procedures
  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
  • Communicate with collaborating physician or specialist regarding patient care
  • Should possess excellent clinical skills, communication skills, and a strong commitment to providing excellent care that is team oriented.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
