Your role with us
Salem Health is seeking a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our collaborative anesthesia team. In this role, you will provide anesthesia care for a wide variety of surgical and procedural cases while working alongside anesthesiologists and fellow CRNAs in a team-based care model. Providers practice in a high-acuity environment supporting a large surgical program and Level II Trauma Center. This position offers exposure to a diverse case mix while contributing to safe, efficient, and patient-centered surgical care.
Anesthesiology Department
The Anesthesiology Department at Salem Hospital supports one of the busiest surgical programs in the region within a 644-bed, not-for-profit medical center. As a Level II Trauma Center and Life Flight hub, the department provides anesthesia services for a wide range of specialties including trauma, neurosurgery, spine, orthopedics, cardiothoracic, pediatrics, obstetrics, vascular, and general surgery. CRNAs practice in a collaborative environment with experienced anesthesiologists and dedicated surgical teams. What you'll do
- Provide anesthesia care for surgical and procedural cases across multiple specialties including trauma, general surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, obstetrics, pediatrics, cardiothoracic, and vascular services.
- Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and develop appropriate anesthetic plans for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
- Administer and monitor anesthesia during procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, and perioperative staff to deliver coordinated patient care.
- Participate in call coverage to support emergency and urgent surgical services.
- Document anesthesia care and clinical activities accurately within the electronic medical record.
Required qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program.
- Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in the State of Oregon or ability to obtain prior to start.
- Certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Demonstrated current competency with performance of at least 500 anesthetics within the past 24 months.
Additional Information
- Minimum of two years of acute care surgical experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist preferred.
- Independent practice experience preferred.
