Key Responsibilities
Patient Care: Monitor vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and report changes to supervisors.
Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications and injections as directed by physicians or RNs.
Patient Hygiene & Comfort: Assist patients with bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
Medical Procedures: Change dressings, insert catheters, collect specimens for lab testing, and assist with minor procedures.
Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and update charts with treatments, symptoms, and progress.
Communication: Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and recovery processes.
Support to Healthcare Team: Assist doctors and registered nurses with examinations and treatments.
Required Qualifications
Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program (usually 12–18 months).
Passing the NCLEX-PN licensing exam.
State licensure as an LPN.
