WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR The Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation is seeking candidates for the Correctional Health Nurses (CHN) I and II, which are registered nurses to work full-time at either the Montgomery County Correctional Facility (MCCF) in Boyds, Maryland or at the Montgomery County Detention Center (MCDC) in Rockville, Maryland, depending upon the area of specialty/interest and the needs of the Department. The individual selected for this position will be considered an "Essential Employee". Essential employees must report to work during periods of general emergency or liberal leave. This position may be filled as a Correctional Health Nurse I, Grade 21. There is a non-competitive promotional opportunity to Correctional Health Nurse II, Grade 24. Work schedules require either eleven (11) and twelve (12) hour day shifts, totaling 80 hours over a 2 week pay period – some weekends and holiday work is required. The facility is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Shift bids are done annually and are based on seniority. This is full performance level professional nursing performed in the correctional environment.
