Position Overview
Jennie Stuart Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager for our Inpatient Behavioral Health unit. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the administrative, operational, clinical, and human resource functions of the unit while ensuring high-quality patient care and a supportive work environment for staff.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Clinical Leadership

Direct daily operations of the inpatient behavioral health unit

Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based patient care

Lead clinical practice improvements and quality initiatives
-
Maintain compliance with regulatory and professional standards
-
Monitor patient outcomes and satisfaction
Staff Leadership & Development
-
Hire, coach, and develop nursing staff
-
Promote a positive, collaborative, and safe work environment
-
Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development
-
Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to staff
Quality, Safety & Compliance

Lead quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs
-
Monitor clinical indicators and performance metrics

Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards

Support incident reporting and risk management processes
Fiscal & Resource Management

Manage department budgets and resources
-
Monitor financial performance and operational efficiency
-
Identify opportunities to improve performance while maintaining quality care
Collaboration

Partner with physicians, leadership, and interdisciplinary teams

Support organizational initiatives and strategic goals

Build strong relationships across departments to enhance patient care
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Experience
Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred
Minimum 1 year of nursing leadership or management experience preferred
Licensure & Certifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months of hire
