Overview Registered Nurse, Operating Room PART-TIME Monday – Friday; 2x10 hour shifts, 6:00am – 6:30pm The Outpatient Surgery Center (OSC) At Dartmouth Hitchcock is a free standing center located on the DHMC Lebanon campus. The OSC operates eight operating room suites and is dedicated to providing care for adult and pediatric patients requiring same-day surgical procedures. The ultimate goal of the OSC is to provide the right care in the right place and the right time for our patients who seek our surgical services. The Registered Nurse is a key member of the surgical team who may function in a circulator or scrubbing capacity. Current services include ENT, orthopedics, plastic surgery, urology, ophthalmology, gynecology, and general surgery. Outpatient Surgery experience preferred and the desire to work as a team member in an efficient, patient centered environment a must. Computer experience preferred as well as the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. Overview Our Emergency Department unit has 43 beds staffed by RN’s, LPN’s, Paramedics, EMT’s, and LNA’s. We are the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the state of NH and work closely with our system affiliates to accept patients requiring critical/neurological/cardiac/obstetrical/medical or trauma care. Our unit sees a large volume of referrals, transfers and trauma consults from outside facilities, and provides services for the local community. We see 31,000 patients annually to include neonates through geriatric populations in various states of health, often times with multiple diseases processes. Our nurses are trained for resuscitation, acute care, outpatient care, trauma care, mental health and are proceduralists delivering bedside moderate sedation. A typical day for a nurse would involve assisting in a fracture reduction for an adult skier injury, caring for a pediatric patient with uncontrolled asthma, managing a homeless victim found unresponsive in the snow in need of resuscitation, and caring for a cardiac arrest or stroke victim. Emergency Nursing is a specialized area of practice that is both independent and collaborative, requiring the continual acquisition and application of a specialized body of knowledge and skills. This demands a broad scope of practice to promptly deliver emergency, urgent, and non-urgent care to patients of all ages and from all cultural backgrounds. Emergency nursing care is episodic, primary, and typically acute, but may be chronic in nature requiring knowledge and skills to care for patients of all ages, acuities, and physical or psychological conditions. L4WD Inpatient Surgery is a collaborative unit that cares for complex surgical patients. Home to thoracic, vascular, kidney transplant and general surgery patients (typically either laparoscopic or major abdominal procedures), the population is diverse and challenging. Our nurse-to-patient ratios are very attractive and Licensed Nursing Assistants are also part of our collaborative team. As a member of the L4WD team you will assess, plan, organize, provide and evaluate nursing care utilizing the nursing process. In addition, you will make nursing judgments and decisions and will be responsible for nursing care and documentation. Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Nursery, Part Time

Overview The ICN is a 30-bed Intensive Care Nursery caring for acutely ill and premature infants from all over the state of NH and parts of the state of VT. The care we provide is patient and family centered, with the family encouraged to be present and participate in their baby’s care from the beginning. They are considered part of the care team. Nurses provide care to infants who are critically ill as well as convalescing with nurse-to-patient ratios that range from 1:1 to 1:3. Primary nursing is encouraged and contributes to family satisfaction. There are many opportunities for professional growth from participation in our unit-based practice council and one of our many quality improvement projects. In addition, there is a two-person high risk neonatal transport team which includes an ICN RN who has been trained to provide this level of care along with a respiratory care practitioner. This is a PT 2x12hr shift position ROTATING 7a-7p, 7p-7a across all weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
