Records chief complaint for visit, as obtained through patient interview. Performs patient intake including obtaining vital signs, contributing to the assessment of the patient’s health status, and recording results in the EMR. Maintains and updates preventative health screening documentation. Identifies psychosocial needs of patients utilizing the depression screening tool and communicates concerns to the patient’s medical provider. Utilizes nursing standards of care including assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation. Communicates the patient’s condition to the medical provider including any significant changes noted during patient assessment. Performs point-of-care testing per established policies and procedures. Assists medical provider with procedures. Maintains aseptic technique during treatments and special procedures. Reports results of laboratory and other tests to the patient when directed by the medical provider. Utilizes available communication methods, which may include EMR and telephone, to convey patient-related communication as necessary. Maintains confidentiality of patient information according GC policy and federal/state guidelines and regulations. Stocks patient rooms with necessary supplies. Maintains current knowledge of medications and administration of injections. Understands and applies the Six Rights to Medication Administration.
