Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa’s Department of Hematology/Oncology has a full-time position available for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant-Certified. This Provider will provide services by performing the following duties:

Performs medical examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up, consultation, and health education.
Assess patient health concerns; diagnose and determine treatment plan.
Order treatment, therapy and prescriptions as needed.
Obtains patient histories and develops patient care charts, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Provides health education to families, and/or community health practitioners and groups within area of specialty.

Qualifications:

Current, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license or Physician Assistant license.
Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Clinical expertise in the management of acute and chronic conditions related to cancer and blood disorders, preferred.
Previous oncology experience and oncology certification preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practice and clinical guidelines.
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills.
Proficiency (or ability to become proficient) in EMR and related computer systems.
Commitment to patient care and teamwork.

If Master’s degree is in a related field, a Baccalaureate degree in nursing is required. Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required. Current certification in specialty area and licensure as ARNP in state of Iowa is required. Desirable Qualifications Previous experience in a primary care environment providing care to adults and children is highly desirable. Minimum of 1-year clinical experience after completion of ARNP (Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner) training is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency with EPIC is highly desirable. 2+ years’ experience in a primary care setting and/or experience in prenatal care is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience in a primary care environment providing care to adults and children.
