How you’ll make an impact in this role

Deliver direct nursing care following the organization's established policies, procedures, and protocols.

  • Make sure patient care is super smooth and never stops by getting everyone (all the different teams) on the same page.
  • Create, start, and regularly check on the patient's care plans.
  • Keep excellent notes on how the patient is doing, let the right people know right away if anything changes, and make sure all the doctor's and nurse's orders get done.
  • Work with the healthcare team to figure out what the patient needs for when they leave the hospital.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.

What additional preferences we're seeking

The Multispecialty MedSurg unit provides a collaborative environment for nurses to care for patients with complex, multi-system diagnoses (e.g., pneumonia, COPD, CHF, renal failure, liver failure, cellulitis, GI bleeds, addiction, diabetes, COVID). Care is delivered by General Internal Medicine teaching services and various subspecialties. Our highly competent, adaptable nurses are trained for acute and progressive care, excelling at communication and collaboration for smooth transitions of care with case managers, social workers, pharmacists, and therapists. The unit promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and continuous learning among supportive staff.

Job Summary The Medical Oncology Office Registered Nurse (RN) prepares and assists physicians or advance practice providers in the examination and treatment of patients in the medical office.
