WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Prepare examination and treatment areas.
  • Document care of patients via electronic medical record.
  • Collect, complete and process lab specimens and required paperwork.
  • Prepare, administer medications and immunizations, under the supervision of RN/Provider.
  • Process sample medications, prescriptions, and refills as directed.

Participates in orientation of new staff/students to the practice. Assists in development and review of policies and procedures. Performs set-up for procedures and assists Provider with procedures, which may include performing dressing changes, ear washes, catheterizations, breathing treatments, EKG’s, urinalyses, strep, flu, pregnancy tests, and some injections as directed by the Provider and dependent upon the Providers’ specialty. Assists Provider with office exams. May administer immunizations. Updates immunization records and records VFC immunizations in VFC log as applicable per individual office. Acts as a clinical resource for CMA’s and other LPN’s. Actively participates in departmental performance improvement activities or special projects. Serves as the electronic medical record super-user or expert within practice Acts as the VFC Clinical Coordinator for individual office.
