Quality Medical Technician (QMT) Responsibilities:

  • Medication administration
  • Obtaining vital signs
  • Assisting in sick call using medical protocols
  • Communicating with the facility or on-call Medical Provider
  • Respond to medical emergencies
  • Be capable of performing life saving measures and ability to take charge and give direction in an emergency.
  • Collect laboratory specimens, as needed
  • Follow the “Rules of 100” and provide patient care as specified
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in patient charts

Location: Wayne County Jail

Shift Opening(s): 6 PM to 2 AM, 5 days per week with an every other weekend rotation

Pay Range: $20-25+/hr based on experience

Requirements

• Active CPR certification 
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in the medical field
• EMT, QMA, or CMA certification highly preferred 
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to push, pull, reach, and bend frequently
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Completes and records the following types of tasks in the Centerstone Health Services’ EMR: Patient vital signs Spirometry readings Administers EKGs Assists with office procedures Administers injections and vaccines Draws and processes blood and lab specimens Renders basic first aid when necessary Ensures that all data elements are captured in each patient visit Assists physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses with examinations of patients; assist patients. Supplies management (ordering and stocking of examination rooms/clinic area); sterilize instruments; clean examination rooms. Prepares patient information and process related paperwork. Follows guidelines and procedures set by both the Medical Director and the CHS Quality Assurance (QA) Team. Responsible for direct patient communications regarding: Lab results Future appointments Hospital admissions Referral appointments Able to answer patient questions or direct them to the proper resources whether in person or over the phone. May be called upon to serve on committees, work groups or other bodies as assigned. Performs clerical duties, including filing, as needed.
