M Physicians, in partnership with CentraCare, is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner or a Certified Physician Assistant to join our orthopedic practice in the St. Cloud, MN.  The Orthopedic Section is a multispecialty practice with fellowship-trained sports medicine, adult reconstruction, foot and ankle and trauma surgeons and primary care sports medicine physicians.

This candidate will be assigned duties in the Orthopedic Clinic and Walk-in clinic seeing urgent and non-urgent ambulatory patients with musculoskeletal complaints.  Patient care includes evaluating and treating orthopedic injuries and other complaints including ordering appropriate radiographic studies, applying splints and orthopedic devices and determining further treatment.  The employee will provide continuity of care with further follow-up, if appropriate, but mostly will determine a provisional diagnosis, stabilize any injuries and determine applicable subspecialty team referrals in the Orthopedic Section.  With demonstrated proficiency, the candidate will perform simple procedures like laceration closure, intraarticular injections/aspiration and fracture reduction.  As part of the clinic duties, the candidate will assist with referral management. The candidate also may evaluate patients for medical clearance of surgical patients.  Hospital call will not be scheduled on a routine basis but could be scheduled in a contingency situation with sufficient notice.    As an urgent care capability is instituted in the future, the candidate may provide some afterhours/weekend coverage when needed.

Qualifications:

  • A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Nurse Practitioner training program.

  • Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP.

  • Licensed or eligible to obtain a license through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license with prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Nursing (NPs).

  • Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.

About the job:

  • CentraCare/M Physicians delivers musculoskeletal care in a team-based environment and has an opportunity for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in an Orthopedic Clinic.

  • M Physicians is seeking part time (0.9 FTE,) independent Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner who will provide care to CentraCare/M Physicians patients at the CentraCare/M Physicians Orthopedic Clinic with a focus on general orthopedic care.

  • 2-3 years’ experience working in primary care, orthopedic surgery or musculoskeletal care is preferred, however all applicants will be considered.

  • This individual will work within a team of orthopedic surgeons and other advanced practice providers. Responsibilities include evaluation, stabilization and treatment of ambulatory orthopedic patients in the Orthopedic Clinic and Urgent Care Center. 

We’re looking for a PA or NP who is:

  • A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Adult Nurse Practitioner training program.

  • Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP.

  • Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP’s).
