Working in a critical access hospital provides clinicians with a unique opportunity to have a more diverse patient care experience. The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will provide direct clinical assistance to patients and provider(s) within the clinic setting. Gathers information and prepares each patient for examination. Assists provider(s) with patient procedures and follow up.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Taking patient vital signs and histories and documenting this in the EHR.
- Preparing patients for medical examinations.
- Assisting provider(s) during examinations and/or procedures.
- Provide basic patient care or treatments such as administering medications via topical, oral, subcutaneous or intramuscular routes, dressing changes, or suture/staple removal.
- Obtaining lab specimens as ordered.
- Communicating between patient, provider, and other team members as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent patient/customer skills
- General knowledge of nursing and health care terminology
Education and Experience:
- CMA Certificate from an Accredited Medical Assisting Program
- BLS Certificate
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- May require prolonged periods of standing, moving, and bending.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Additional Job Information:
- Pay: This is a non-exempt, hourly position and employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis
- Typical Schedule: M-F Shifts 8AM - 5PM
- Location: On Site - 202 Prospect Dr, Glendive MT 59330
- Travel: Very minimal to none
