Responsibilities

Serve as a patient navigator throughout the continuum of care.

Function as a liaison for management staff, administration, physicians, managed care companies,
community organizations, and other customers.
Coordinate efforts for treatment and promote quality improvement and educational efforts.
Compile data, track outcomes, and make recommendations for process improvement.
Provide referrals/support for follow-up care for patients who are uninsured or underinsured.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job
transfer date required.
BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

3-5 years of oncology experience preferred; OCN or CBCN certification preferred

Infusion nurses are cross trained to work at all 3 locations (PWK, OMH and DNG). The field of oncology has become more complex over time. Infusion nurses are responsible for: Providing education IV and oral chemotherapy Providing intervention and evaluation of patient needs Reviewing pertinent lab data Assessing patients and reporting patient changes to provider Providing pre and post treatment care Developing individualized plans of care for the patients Performing blood transfusions, steroid transfusions, chemo/biotherapy infusions, and electrolyte and antibody infusions.
