The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. This position may perform duties associated with symptom-management, direct in-clinic patient care, and/or telehealth patient care and quality improvement activities. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am to 4:30pm. No weekends, no holidays, no call hours.

Psych/Behavioral Health experience preferred.

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH RN I (Full-Time Nights)

JOB RESPONSIBILLITIES: Restores and promotes patient’s health by completing the nursing process including but not limited to: a. Completes initial nursing assessment within 24 hours of admission or per Behavioral Health Unit/JMH (Johnson Memorial Health) policy; reassesses routinely throughout patient’s stay on the unit. b. Completes individualized treatment plan for each patient. c. Plans, implements, and coordinates nursing care activities for patients. d. Conducts therapies in accordance with patient’s diagnosis and needs. e. Performs treatment interventions following physician orders such as medication administration and medical treatment orders. f. Ensures patient’s dignity and respects patient values. g. Assists with patient personal needs (oral hygiene, toileting, bathing, dressing, transferring, etc.) as required. h. Operates and participates in tele psych. i. Draws patient blood as ordered. Collaborates with physicians, multi-disciplinary team members, and outside health and social service agencies. Interprets the nursing and treatment needs of the patient for nonclinical staff assigned to the patient. Provides efficient discharge plans and obtains accurate histories at admission. Completes all required documentation relevant to patients in a timely, efficient manner. This includes but is not limited to: a. Admission paperwork b. Assessments (mental and physical) c. Progress notes d. Interventions e. Evaluations f. Discharge paperwork g.
