What You Will Do (Job Summary): The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Prepares and maintains supplies, instruments and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.

Required Skills:

High School Diploma or GED.
Completion of a Scrub Technician Program. Certified Surgical Tech preferred.
Two+ years of experience as a Surgical Tech. Preferably experience in plastics, ENT and Orthopedics.
BLS certification.
Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other skills and abilities: General familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and surgical procedures for an operating room.

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director and the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is responsible for providing surgical scrub support for a variety of minor and major surgical procedures, based on individual competency. The CST is expected to ensure sterile techniques are adhered to and to maintain a sterile field during surgery.
