What You'll Be Doing

This position will support our Bariatrics group in West Orange, NJ

 

Certified Medical Assistants are the heartbeat of our Medical Practice offices. We are looking for individuals who care and want to make a difference in patient's lives. We prefer CCMAs, but will give you time and assistance getting certified if you have some experience.

 

Performs a variety of duties such as assisting physicians with patient care; handling clerical, environmental and organizational tasks; Provides information to patients regarding clinical services.

 

The successful candidate will be able to:

           

  • Fulfills patient care responsibilities, including checking schedules and organizing patient flow.
  • Accompanies patients to exam/procedure room and assists with walking transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exams etc.
  • Work at different locations due to shortage of staff, FMLA and fill in vacations when needed.
  • Work flexible hours as defined by each medical practice.
  • Obtain patient demographics and information.
  • Understand and maintain patient confidentiality during check-in procedures.
  • Prepare patient record/chart.
  • Performs screenings as per provider guidelines.
  • Understand proper hand washing procedures.
  • Accurately determine systolic and diastolic pressures.
  • Assists nurses with a variety of procedures.
  • Relays instructions to patients/families.
  • Answers incoming calls.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

 

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
  • Medical Assistant Diploma.
  • RMA, AMT or AAMA Certification.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • EMR: eClinical Works a plus.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary and injection experience.
  • Bilingual 
  • Minimum of one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant or externship completion in a medical office preferred.
