The Pediatric Department at Penn Medicine Princeton Health is seeking a per diem Nursing Assistant (NA) to work the day shift. Patients that are admitted to the Pediatric Unit will include those aged two (2) days to eighteen (18) years. We care for patients with a wide range of complexities which include High Flow Nasal Cannula, any patient that needs higher acuity medical attention will be transferred to another facility.
In the case of a medical/surgical patient surge, adult patients may be admitted to the Pediatric Unit that have medical and surgical diagnoses requiring a mild level of care, with the expectation of a brief and uncomplicated hospitalization.
Scheduling Requirements:
- One day shift (7am-7pm) a week.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assists nurses in the delivery of nursing care through participation in the nursing process.
- Makes observations of patient condition and reports and documents information as requested. Has good communication skills with patients/families and co-workers and is able to make suggestions regarding the patient's needs for nursing care
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skill specific to a nursing assistant in the area of assignment. (i.e. patient hygiene, vital signs, emptying and documenting of urine outputs, procedures, etc).
- Participates in keeping the nursing unit, (patient rooms, work stations, and hallways) clean and well organized.
What We Require for this Role:
Education
- High school Diploma or equivalent.
Related Work Experience
- No experience necessary for this role.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT
- Basic Life Saving certification (BLS) - Successful completion and certification during first two weeks of orientation and prior to patient care assignment
- Nursing Assistant Course- Successful completion of hospital onsite course during first two weeks of orientation and prior to patient care assignment
Salary Range:
$18.73 - $29.31/Hourly
