The Full-Time Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) will split time between Mountain Empire Surgery Center in Johnson City, TN, and Holston Valley ASC in Kingsport, TN—providing the benefit of diverse surgical experience and the chance to work with two highly skilled teams.

Certified Surgical Tech at Holston Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center:

·       Prepare and set up the operating room, ensuring all instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready for surgical procedures.

·       Assist the surgical team with creating and maintaining a sterile environment.

·       Hand necessary instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.

·       Help with patient positioning and draping in a sterile manner.

·       Maintain instrument counts and uphold aseptic techniques.

·       Contribute to patient safety and compliance with infection control protocols.

·       Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and smooth operations.

Qualifications

Education:

·       High School diploma or equivalent

Licensure/Certification:                                                     

·       Completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience

·       Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)

·       Current BLS certification

Required Experience:

·       Previous experience as a Certified Scrub Technician in an ambulatory surgery center or hospital setting is preferred.

·       Strong communication and teamwork skills.

·       Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced surgical environment.

·       Dedication to upholding the highest standards of patient care.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Transports all surgical equipment to appropriate cleaning areas. Assists in cleaning and reprocessing instrument sets. Interacts appropriately and effectively with all patients/others regardless of age or ethnic background Uses appropriate hand hygiene, personal protective equipment and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safe environment. Follows all equipment and safety guidelines to ensure a safe work and patient care environment.
