Registered Nurse Supervisor

In this position, you will be responsible for the supervision of personnel in the performance of all clinical and administrative duties related to nursing services. Your work will involve ensuring that adequate coverage is provided on all shifts and approving or disapproving leave requests, scheduling personnel, and authorizing overtime for all clinical personnel. You will review and evaluate the educational and training needs for subordinates, plan and conduct training, and arrange for further education and training to enhance nursing skills. You can expect to perform the duties of a working supervisor. This will include assisting the clinical staff in performing duties during peak workload periods and absences, as well as carrying out all other general and nursing-related duties for which certifiable training and licensure has been received. Additionally, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the nursing services provided to inmates.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours during the training period are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday. Work hours after the training period will be 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. This may change based on operational needs.
• Overtime as needed
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $100,523.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.

Special Requirements:

• This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. 
• All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
