Dr PM Sleep and Wellness is looking for a motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant for our Carmel Valley and Oceanside location who is a self-starter, tech-savvy, reliable and able to work part time during the first 90 days until the candidate is fully credentialed. During the first 90 days the pay rate will be hourly $65 to $75 per hour, 8 hour shifts. After the 90 days, when the candidate is fully credentialed, the yearly salary will range according to experience and performance between $110,000-130,000.  Ideally prior experience is highly desirable in areas of  Sleep Medicine, Neurology, Psychiatry, Obesity Medicine or Aesthetics Procedures.  
 
Dr. PM Sleep and Wellness Medical Center is a locally owned multispecialty clinic directed by triple board certified physician Dr. Pegah Mashayekhi. Each day, a significant portion of the population struggles with sleep issues. Whether it’s you or someone you know, chances are a sleep disorder is impacting quality of life. We help patients with snoring, sleep apnea, insomnia, frequent nighttime disturbances, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome, restless sleep, daytime drowsiness, or persistent fatigue as well as obesity and weight management 
 
Responsibilities and Qualifications: 
  • Must have State of California active Registered Nurse Practitioner License of Physician Assistant active license. (Required)
  • Perform Good Faith Exams, and Patient Evaluations for Sleep Medicine and Weight Management. 
  • Follow up appointment to control weight management medications, read lab results, give sleep study results to the patients, set up order for CPAP, referrals to other specialists, mask fittings, etc. 
  • Ensure effective patient care through the implementation of established clinical practice standards, written and oral treatment protocols and training 
  • Patient charting 
  • Evaluating patients and following up with treatments 
  • Medical consultations over the phone and video appointments. 
  • Educate and excite patients on existing and new services and plans through making recommendations 

Additional Job Duties include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Acquiring CPAP data downloads and collaborating closely with local Durable Medical Equipment (DME) providers
  • Making letters of appeals, letters of medical necessity, sending prescriptions on behalf of the provider.

HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

  • Training in the use of CPAP masks and assisting patients with fitting sample PAP masks.
  • Experience in sleep medicine, psychiatry/behavioral health, neurology, pulmonary, cardiology, ENT or aesthetic medicine.
  • Fast typing skills and experience with Microsoft Applications like Outlook and Teams. SUCCESS FACTORS:
  • Previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner or PA or in a comparable role within the healthcare sector is beneficial.
  • Proficient in the use of EMR systems. - Strong organizational skills and communication, being able to work well independently and with a team.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
