Qualifications

This position is for our new 25 bed unit. Anticipate opening summer 2026.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing AND BS degree in nursing or another health related field or business. Internal candidates promoted into this job who do not have a B.S. degree  must obtain same within 36 months of date of promotion.
  • Working knowledge of the unit's scope of care/practice
  • Basic knowledge of management principles
  • Proven leadership skills

Licensure/Registration/Certification:

  • Current RN Licensure in the State of Alabama
  • National certification in area of clinical responsibility within two years of eligibility requirement
  • BLS

Desired Qualifications:

  • MSN, MBA, or Master's degree in health related field
  • Working knowledge of management in a similar clinical setting
  • Upon promotion, National certification in area of specialty

Responsibilities

Manages the overall operations of a clinical department in order to provide defined patient care services in a prescribed clinical setting which meets IHS's standards of quality, efficiency, and desired outcomes.

Assistant Nurse Manager - Cardiac Intervention - 3300

The Cardiac Intervention Unit (CIU) will facilitate care to the following patient populations: patients admitted for cardiac catheterization, elective coronary interventional procedures including PTCA, stent, atherectomy, electrophysiology testing and/or ablation, elective electrical cardioversion, permanent cardiac pacemaker or AICD implantation. CIU's nurse to patient ratio is 1:5. Anticipated length of stay for these patients is less than 48 hours. The unit provides expert quality care to patients utilizing an interdisciplinary collaborative approach in an effort to return the patient to their highest level of wellness. The CIU is committed to providing healthcare that is unmatched in quality, convenience that is patient/family centered.
