We are searching for a Service Coordinator (RN) - Women's Services Operating Room -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will support excellence in clinical practice and the care of patients in accordance with their developmental stages. The Service Coordinator will help in the daily operations of the service by assisting the Managers by promoting the development of other nursing professionals, demonstrating clinical expertise, and implementation of the departmental standards of nursing practice.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Assesses patients with input from the parent/family.
- Collects data from patient, family, laboratory, and other medical reports according to guidelines as documented on the Preoperative/Holding Area Assessment form.
- Completes nursing assessment of the patient/family including biological, psychological, age appropriate developmental, environmental, cultural, and spiritual needs in an organized and systematic manner as documented on the Preoperative/Holding Area Assessment and Intraoperative Nursing Record as observed by the supervisor.
- Coordinates, analyzes, and reviews surgical procedures as observed by the supervisor.
- Documents assessment including patient needs or other clinical judgements according to Operating Room Standards of Practice and Protocols (AORN Standards).
- Determines patient needs and priorities for care with special consideration given to patient teaching as documented on the Preoperative record.
- Involves patient/family in the planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
- Educates patients and families.
- Cares for one or more of the following age groups routinely: Neonates, Infants, Toddler, Preschool Age, School Age, Adolescent, and Adult.
- Demonstrates commitment to team, flexibility, professional interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, and customer service skills.
- Accountable for managing time and resources in a cost effective manner.
- Accountable for the coordination of the specialty services.
- Accountable for maintaining professional development of self and participates in development of others.
- Accountable for performing other essential job related functions.
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or Associate's Degree in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement or an associate’s degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining an RN license or Technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement or other Must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN. Verified BSN-equivalency or a signed agreement is required.
- Required RN - Lic-Registered Nurses by the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact and BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support BLS – Cert-Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association
- Required 1 year 6 months of operating room experience
