The Nursing Internship Program is designed to provide nursing students the opportunity to gain hands on experience in areas within the nursing field outside of hospital bed-side patient care. During the experience you will get exposure to patient care needs through the healthcare continuum, enrichment opportunities such as the Day in the Life of a Nurse Series, Enterprise Foundations, networking, and student cohort connections.

The Nursing Summer Internship Program is full-time, 40 hours per week for 10 weeks starting June 2, 2026.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities

As a Nurse Intern with the United Clinical Services team, you will work under the supervision of experienced RNs and clinical leaders to observe and participate in the following:

  • Identify and communicate opportunities to optimize policies, processes, and performance
  • Participate in data analysis to identify opportunities and validate assumptions
  • Observe and/or draft recommendations for improvement to leadership based on current and future end-to-end processes and criteria
  • Learn how to track, trend and represent assessment findings, gaps, deficiencies, and risks in current process or patient care
  • Provide input and clinical expertise to business leaders to inform process and performance improvement
  • Serve as a key resource to provide explanation and information about findings, including complex/critical issues
  • Learn and evaluate appropriate application of nationally recognized clinical guidelines
  • React swiftly to challenges, changes in priority, ambiguity and uncertainty effectively
  • Confidence to participate in building and strengthening customer relationships and finding better ways to meet customer needs

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, an accredited RN Bachelor's Degree program, with graduation expected within 12 months of the internship start date (before or after)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the duration of the summer internship program (from June 2 - August 7)
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)
  • Ability to work remotely, within a designated workspace with access to high-speed internet via cable/DSL in home setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of clinical terminology

Under the supervision of our RNs and providers, you will learn how to: Engage members / families in their homes or in a facility to coordinate services, community resources and treatment Travel in assigned territory to complete member assessments; the rest of the time will be spent working in a home-based office Deliver coordinated holistic care based on the member's needs using a patient centric approach Identify early risk factors and conduct ongoing assessments and document in electronic patient files Create, review and revise care plans and focus on a holistic approach Function as an advocate for members Collaborate with the member's PCP to deliver and coordinate necessary services Build relationships with members and their families, assisting them with coordination of health choices Ensure all patient assignments and corresponding interventions are documented in a timely manner Coordinate with other state agencies, community resources and providers You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, an accredited RN Bachelor's Degree program, with graduation expected within 12 months of the internship start date (before or after) 2+ years of LVN/LPN experience, ADN experience, or other previous experience in healthcare Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the duration of the summer internship program (from June 2 - August 7) Must be eligible to work in the US without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc will not be considered) Access to reliable transportation that will enable you to travel to community centers, facilities, community activities, or patient homes across a designated territory Preferred Qualifications 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA Demonstrated oral and written communication skills Knowledge of clinical terminology Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
