The Nursing Internship Program is designed to provide nursing students the opportunity to gain hands on experience in areas within the nursing field outside of hospital bed-side patient care. During the experience you will get exposure to patient care needs through the healthcare continuum, enrichment opportunities such as the Day in the Life of a Nurse Series, Enterprise Foundations, networking, and student cohort connections.
The Nursing Summer Internship Program is full-time, 40 hours per week for 10 weeks starting June 2, 2026.

Primary Responsibilities
As a Nurse Intern within UnitedHealthcare Clinical Services and working on the Clinical Implementation team, you will work under the supervision of clinical leaders and experienced clinical consultant RNs to observe and participate in the following:
- Observe and assist in review of customer-specific requirements, working in collaboration with the Clinical Implementation Team and Enterprise Clinical Services (ECS) operational areas to facilitate discussion of clinical requirements, and UHC capabilities
- Assist in documentation of customer-specific requirements according to clinical implementation team templates and protocols using Microsoft Office products (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Learn and apply appropriate application of nationally recognized clinical guidelines and medical policies
- Monitor, review and triage of customer questions and escalations
- React swiftly to challenges, changes in priority, ambiguity and uncertainty effectively
- Confidence to participate in building and strengthening customer relationships and finding better ways to meet customer needs
- Escalate conflicts and issues to leadership expeditiously as required
- Assist with generating, analysis and distribution of customer reporting
- Perform other related projects and responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, an accredited RN Bachelor's Degree program, with graduation expected within 12 months of the internship start date (before or after)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the duration of the summer internship program (from June 2 - August 7)
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)
- Ability to work remotely, within a designated workspace with access to high-speed internet via cable/DSL in home setting
- 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
- Experience with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge of clinical terminology
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
