Assist nursing staff and physicians with direct and indirect patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures

Prepare patients for surgery by escorting them to procedure areas, helping with gowning, positioning, and comfort measures

Measure and document vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, oxygen saturation) as directed
-
Assist with patient mobility, including transfers to and from stretchers, wheelchairs, and beds using proper safety techniques
-
Support post-operative care by monitoring patients, responding to call lights, reporting changes in condition, and assisting with discharge activities
-
Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile environment by cleaning procedure rooms, restocking supplies, and disposing of waste according to infection control standards
-
Set up and break down procedure rooms, ensuring required equipment and supplies are available and functioning
-
Transport patients, specimens, and equipment safely throughout the surgery center

Assist with basic clinical tasks such as applying dressings, ice packs, compression devices, or other non-invasive treatments as directed

Follow all safety, privacy (HIPAA), and infection prevention policies and procedures

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to support patient comfort and workflow efficiency

Document care activities accurately in the medical record as required

Respond promptly to patient needs and emergency situations within the scope of training

Support quality improvement initiatives and comply with regulatory and accreditation standards
