This is a 16 bed unit that provides acute care medical/surgical care for adult patients with diagnoses related to the GI/GU, endocrine, and renal systems, as well as to patients with hematological and oncologic diseases. General diagnosis for care may include acute hemodialysis, pneumonia, CHF, weakness, dehydration, hypoxia, cellulitis, DVT, electrolyte imbalance, sepsis/SIRS, asthma, COPD, anemia, dyspnea, bronchitis, end-stage CAD, cancer, blood disorders, cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, and substance abuse. Potential for cross training to Pediatrics 5W. The RN is responsible for the provision and coordination of patient centered care.
