A contract opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized healthcare support within an elementary school setting in Greenville, SC. This position spans the current school year from February 19th through May 21st. The ideal candidate will bring experience in pediatric nursing, particularly in managing students with complex medical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to a group of approximately seven children aged 3 to 15 years.
- Provide specialized care for students who use wheelchairs, ensuring mobility and comfort.
- Manage ventilator-dependent students, requiring strong ventilator experience and respiratory skills.
- Serve as the classroom nurse, collaborating closely with educators and staff to support students' health and safety.
- Monitor health status, respond to medical emergencies, and document care provided according to school policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and valid RN license is mandatory.
- Proven expertise in pediatric nursing with a focus on students with physical disabilities.
- Previous experience working with ventilator-dependent children is essential.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and educational staff.
