What you bring to SBHG:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing or psychiatric technology required.
  • Associate degree in nursing or social sciences preferred.
  • (1) year nursing experience required, preferably treating the mentally ill in an inpatient setting. (Clinical nursing school rotations may be substituted for a portion of work experience.)
  • (1) year medication administration experience preferred.
  • Valid California LVN or LPT license required.

How you will make a difference:

  • Visually and audibly observes, documents in writing, and reports orally or in writing the physical or mental condition to the Program Manager and the attending physician or nurse practitioner.
  • Orders, prepares, administers, and documents the administration of medication for clients according to physicians’ or nurse practitioners’ orders.
  • Monitors and maintains appropriate nursing documentation in the medical record for shift worked.
  • Communicates pertinent information verbally and in writing to all team members.
  • Assists in crisis intervention (including the use of Pro-ACT) and provides support and assistance in problem resolution. Uses Pro-ACT to appropriately intervene with assaultive/volatile clients.
  • Reads and responds to company communications via email, telephone, or other selected mode within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Logs into established company information sharing sites regularly to maintain current knowledge of changes in policy, procedure, events, etc..
