Job Overview

Functions as a member of the Operating Room health care team to provide direct patient care during surgical procedures as the "scrub" technician to assist the "circulating" nurse, maintain and prepare OR equipment, supplies, and instruments for a variety of surgical procedures.

This position is per diem, non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $32.83 - $446.35/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity. 

 

Schedule is Mon - Fri 10 hour shifts on call (per diem).

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a member of the operative room team providing direct patient care during a variety of surgical procedures as scrub technician, assists circulating nurse as assigned
  • Serves as a member of the operating room team in communication with team members to assess and anticipate equipment, supplies and instruments
  • Participates in the maintenance, care and preparation for a variety of instruments, set systems and supplies for the Operating Room or ancillary department needs

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current BLS certification
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required

Preferred:

  • PALS

What You Will Do (Job Summary): The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures. Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities. Monday-Friday work schedule NO call required NO Nights, NO Weekends, NO Holiday work hours Hourly Range: $24 - $45, depending on experience Required Skills: Education and/or Experience High School Diploma/GED Completion of a Scrub Technician Program. Certification is preferred 2+ years experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
